Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy is issued by CCMRV Pty Ltd (ABN 34 694 747 567), trading as Venture Guard Global ("we", "us", "our"). We operate the website ventureguardglobal.com.au and two online tools — the Business Readiness Assessment and Pathfinder — which provide business risk and career discovery assessments together with the resulting reports.
We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with (including overseas), how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.
2. What This Policy Covers
This policy applies to all personal information we collect through our website and our two assessment tools, however you access them — including where a tool is displayed within a window on our website.
3. The Personal Information We Collect
We aim to collect only the information we reasonably need to provide our services. Depending on how you use us, this may include:
- Contact details — your first name (a surname is optional), and email address. If you contact us through our enquiry form, you may also choose to provide a phone number and company name.
- Assessment information — the answers you give in an assessment, which may include your State or Territory, age range, employment or current situation, budget or income range, education, prior business experience, your values and goals, and details about the business or venture you are considering. Several of these fields are optional, and where a field offers a "Prefer not to say" option you may choose it.
- Report data — the score, risk band and report we generate for you, linked to your email address so we can deliver and re-send it.
- Payment information — where you make a purchase, payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card details on our systems.
- Website usage and analytics — when you visit our website we collect limited technical and behavioural information such as a randomly generated session identifier, the page that referred you, your browser type (user agent), screen width, how far you scroll, and time spent on the page. This helps us understand and improve how our site is used.
- Communications — the content of enquiries, support requests, and other messages you send us.
We do not ask for "sensitive information" (such as health, racial, religious, political or biometric information, as defined in the Privacy Act). Please do not include sensitive information in free-text answers or messages, as our assessments do not require it.
4. How We Collect It
We collect personal information directly from you when you complete an assessment, make a purchase, or contact us. We collect website usage information automatically through our own first-party analytics when you browse the site. We do not buy personal information or collect it from third-party data brokers.
5. Why We Collect and Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Deliver the assessment and generate and send your report;
- Process purchases and send receipts and transactional emails;
- Re-send a report to you on request;
- Respond to your enquiries and provide support;
- Operate, secure, analyse and improve our website and tools; and
- Meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
Where a field in an assessment is optional, you can complete our services without providing it.
6. How We Generate Your Report (Use of AI)
Our reports are generated with the assistance of an automated, artificial-intelligence (AI) language model provided by Anthropic. When you complete an assessment, the answers and profile information you provide are sent to this AI service to produce your personalised report. We send only the information needed to generate the report.
Your report is general information to help you make your own decisions. It is not a decision made about you that determines your legal rights, your eligibility for a benefit, or your access to a service. AI-generated content can contain errors and should not be relied on as professional advice — see our Terms of Service.
7. Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run our website and tools, and only so they can perform their function for us. These providers, their role, and where they process data are:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database hosting and storage of assessment, lead and report data | Sydney, Australia |
| Anthropic | AI generation of reports and chat responses | United States |
| Resend | Delivery of report emails | United States |
| EmailJS | Delivery of purchase receipt emails | United States |
| Formspree | Handling of website enquiry-form submissions | United States |
| Stripe | Secure payment processing | United States / global |
| Netlify | Website and application hosting | United States |
We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, or to protect our legal rights.
8. Overseas Disclosure
As the table above shows, several of our providers are located overseas — primarily in the United States. This means that when you use our services, some of your personal information is disclosed to, and processed in, those countries. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, including by using reputable providers and relying on their contractual and security commitments. By providing your information and proceeding with an assessment, purchase or enquiry, you acknowledge and consent to this overseas disclosure.
9. Direct Marketing
We will send you transactional messages relating to your assessment, report or purchase. We will only send you marketing or promotional messages where you have consented to receive them. Every marketing message we send will identify us and include a simple way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out of marketing at any time by using that link or by emailing us. This is consistent with APP 7 and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
10. How We Keep It Secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include encryption in transit (TLS), storage with a reputable provider hosted in Australia, restricting access to authorised personnel, and keeping payment processing with a PCI-DSS-compliant provider. For more detail, see our Security page.
11. How Long We Keep It
We keep personal information only for as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as we are required to by law. As a guide:
- Assessment, lead and report data — retained for up to 24 months after your most recent interaction, then deleted or de-identified, unless it is connected to a purchase.
- Purchase and transaction records — retained for up to 7 years to meet business and taxation record-keeping requirements.
- Website analytics events — retained for up to 14 months.
- Enquiries and correspondence — retained for up to 24 months.
You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it (for example, for a record connected to a purchase).
12. Cookies and Tracking
We use a small amount of first-party tracking to understand how our website is used, and some essential and third-party technologies to keep the site working and process payments. You can manage these through your browser. For full detail, see our Cookie Policy.
13. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Ask for access to the personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
- Ask us to delete your personal information (subject to our legal obligations); and
- Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at admin@ventureguardglobal.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
14. Children
Our services are intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
15. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first at admin@ventureguardglobal.com.au so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
16. Data Breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
